Most Kamloops attic heat loss is air leakage through the ceiling plane: pot lights, plumbing stacks, top plates and the attic hatch. Foam seals those and insulates at the same time. For a vented attic the usual approach is a foam air-seal layer topped with blown-in insulation to reach the code target; for a cathedral or vaulted ceiling, closed-cell foam against the roof deck is often the only way to reach the R-value in the depth available.
Older Kamloops homes with knob-and-tube wiring or vermiculite need those dealt with first; vermiculite may contain asbestos and is tested before any work begins.
